PITTSBURGH'S "BUCKET LIST"

editor's note: I received a version of this list from devoted reader "Dunny" R. of Murrysville who is a former Mt. Washington "Mountie". After making some modifications to "Dunny's" list, gussying it up a little with photos and even adding several additional items, it's now up to 100 things that you must have done to be considered a "Yinzer" before you kick the bucket. Check the list and see how many you've already accomplished! Some things are relatively easy, but to be considered a true "Yinzer" you'll really have to work at it. I was surprised. I thought I'd score better, but I got an 80. Yikes, I'd better get busy, the meter's running. But I don't see me water skiing the three rivers anytime soon....

"Pittsburgh's Black and Gold" Official "Yinzer" Rating Scale

92 to 100- "A" Yinzer through and through. Go ahead and "Kick the bucket" now and you can say that you've already done it all.

85-91 "B" careful to finish up on your list so that you can be considered a Yinzer before you start "Pushing up daisies".

73-84 "C" if you can do better and get busy on your list. You're not ready to "Cash in your chips" yet.

65-72 "D"elerious is what you are right now. You have a lot of things still to do before you're ready to "Check out."

0-64 "F" 'd up. You're missing out on the greatest things in Pittsburgh! Get busy before the "Grim Reaper" decides otherwise!!!

Small note - the Buhl Planetarium doesn't exist anymore - the trains are at the Science Center

That's part of the difficulty of the list, you had to be living it all along...just like Forbes Field, Pitt Stadium, Three Rivers are no longer in existence, so you couldn't go back and attend a rock concert at Three Rivers Stadium or a Steeler game at Pitt Stadium or Forbes Field!

Thanks for reading!

Good post...
I pulled a 68. Too young for a lot of the options, but not a bad score considering that. The thing is... Do I really WANT to be a yinzer? I usually find myself getting angry at them in bars...

Been to Cleveland?
Why?
Please say a Steelers game or a Pirates interleague series.

I thought that just admitting you'd been there was reason enough! But you're right, a should have given a bonus for going to a Steeler game in Cleveland Cinci or Baltimore or a Pens game in Philly or Washington.
